As with many other Provincial Associations and Colleges, the requirement for Continuing Education Credits was approved at the PEIAMRT May 2010 Annual Meeting. The guidelines were included with the 2011 dues notice and a Professional Activity Record was included with your 2011 dues receipt. See links to other professional Associations or Colleges for their continuing education requirements.

PEIAMRT has a requirement for membership to work 500 hours in a 5 year period and to maintain continuing education. The continuing education requirement is 30 credits in 5 years with a minimum of 5 credits each year. A professional Activity Record including the continuing education and work hours is available by contacting peiamrtregistrar@bellaliant.net.

AWARDS

The Sr Noreen Hammill Award was presented at the 2011 UPEI Convocation to Angie McNally BSc.R. PEIAMRT presents this award annually to the graduate who represents the qualities of the former instructor of the School of Radiography. The PEIAMRT members, who work with the students, nominate the graduate for the award.

The Dr. Elmer A. MacKenzie Award is presented annually by the graduating class to the technologist who best exemplifies collegiality, leadership, and mentorship and is the technologist whom the students would most like to emulate. The 2011 recipient is Bonnie MacLean, R.T.R.

The GE Award of Excellence was presented to Beverly Gorveatt, RTR during MRT week. The GE Award salutes an MRT, who is nominated by their peers, for her professionalism, excellent patient care, inspiration and leadership. Nominations will be accepted in October.

Volunteers are required for all Association Committees.

Please ensure your information is up to date at www.healthregistration.ca. Members receive a dues notice in September and payment is required by October 31 each year to avoid a late charge.

Notice of Motions

1. Article IV (e) Up to two (2) members-at-large to be recommended by the Executive to ensure that the Executive includes individuals who represent all disciplines within the PEIAMRT.

2. To raise the PEIAMRT portion of dues by $100.00.
